Questions & answers
Do I need internet for it to work?
No. With no internet, you can stream to any device in your home: every TV, tablet, phone and computer. With internet, you can also stream to any device remotely, outside the home.
What does it play?
Media you own: your movies, TV shows, pictures, music and home videos (VCR tapes). We don't supply movies or a catalog. It's your stuff, on your own private server.
How many people can use it?
Unlimited users in your household. Depending on how many people stream at the same time, a custom media server may be required.
How much does it cost?
Starting at $99, we install everything on a computer you already own, and that computer becomes your media server. Pricing varies with how much media you have and whether you need a custom-built server. For example:
- A custom server for about 200 DVD-quality movies, with 2–3 streams at a time: around $599.
- A custom server for about 2,500 DVD-quality movies (or 1,000 Blu-ray movies), 200 full TV series, 3,000 songs, 5,000 pictures and 200 hours of home video, with up to 20 streams at home and/or remotely: around $5,000 to $9,000+.
Optional cloud backup starts at $5/month. Call/text 920-637-3021 or send a note for a quote.
What is the optional cloud backup?
Optional cloud backup, starting at $5/month, keeps an extra copy of your media in the cloud, outside your house. The monthly fee depends on your total backup size. Totally optional. The base install works great without it.
Can I add parental controls?
Yes. Parental controls can be added to any kid's profile, so you decide exactly what they can watch.
Can you digitize my old VHS tapes?
Yes! We'll turn your home videos (VCR tapes) into digital files you can watch on any TV, tablet or phone. Your original tapes come right back to you. This can be added for an additional fee.
Do you build websites too?
Yes! Website building, hosting & management (all-in-one) is an optional add-on. Send us a note or call or text 920-637-3021 for a quote.
Do you come to my house?
Yes. We install it in your home, by appointment.
What happens to my discs?
They're yours. Original discs and tapes go right back to you.
